Expression of cyclin D1 and cdk4 in chondrosarcoma of the jaws

  • Objective To analyze the expression and relationship of cyclin D1 and cyclin-dependent kinase 4 (cdk4) in chondrosarcoma of the jaws. Methods Cyclin D1 and cdk4 expression was detected by immunohistochemistry in 20 chondrosarcoma, 8 osteochondroma and 4 chondroma of the jaws. Results The results showed that the positive rates of cyclin D1 and cdk4 in chondrosarcoma were 70% (14/ 20) and 65% (13/ 20), respectively.
