THE EFFECTS OF TGF-α,TGF-β,AND EGF ON THE GROWTH AND COLONY FORMING EFFICIENCY OF FUKU CELLS

    Abstract
  • The effects of TGF-α, TGF-β and EGF on the growth and colony forming efficincy of FUKU cells were studied. The results showed that the growth of FUKU CElls in monolayer cultures was not affected by these growth factors. TGF-α and EGF increased the colony forming efficincy of FUKU cells, the maximum effect is by 200%, TGF-β had bifunctional effects on the colony forming efficiency of FUKU cells, first stimulation then inhibitiion. No synergism was detectable if TGF-α was applied before or after EGF or if TGF-β was applied before EGF or TGF-α.
