Abstract
The experiences of surgical treatment of 16 cases of the large cell carcinoma of the lung arerePOrted in this article. There isn' more differences in clinical manifestation between the large cellcarcinoma of the lung and the others. X-ray's features were great peripheral mass no cavity' Bloodspread is the main metastatic route. Because of it,s complicated tissular origin, obtaining exactpathological diagnosis is difficult preoperatively. It can be subclassified giant cell carcinoma andclear cell carcinoma. Clinically the former presents active invasiveness-often invading neighberinglobe and nearby organ, metastasizing through all body early. It's median survival period was only6. 5 months. The latter has less aggressive and the long-term survival was gained if the focus canbe resected radically. The relation and difference of both subclassifications may be further discovered.
