Correlation between estrogen and progesterone receptor levels in the squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix and prognosis

  • The estrogen receptors (ER) in the 126 cases of squamous carcinoma of the cervix were deter-mined with enzyme-linking affinity immunohistochemistry method. The progesterone receptors(PR) were done in 94 of the 126 cases. The results showed that positive rates of ER and PR were44. 4% and 30. 8%.The positive rates of both ER and PR were 24. 4 % . ER and PR levels were sig-nificantly related to histological grades and surviving rates. it is indicated that the higher the ER andPR levels, the better the differetiated degree of cancer cells and the longer the survival.
