Evaluation to the operative treatment of esophagus andcardia cancer in the elderly-an analysis of 180 cases

There were 1337 patients with esophagus.cardia cancer treated in our depart-ments from 1986 to 199.in which 180 cases were more than sixty-five years old，surgical resection done in 16 cases.exploration of 24 cases，the rate total resection was 866.7%.one case was dead after 20 days of the operation.The fistula of the anastomasis ofrifice in cases，complication of the lungs and cardiac vascular in 19 cases after operation and the forward stricture of the anastomasis orifice in 13 cases (8.28%)，of which 3.6_years survival.
