Study of Selenium as an Adimant in chemotherapy of Cancer

From Mar.1994 to Nov.1994.The anthers have studied Ⅲ-Ⅳ term cancer patients in the chemotherapy.The 64 patients were randomized into both selenium and chemotherapy group and only chemotherapy group.selenium was given 300-400ug/day.The results showed that two grounps were no sigificant on the hemotonxicity and infection(P>0.05).It can be observed that both selenium chemotherapy grounps had greater activety than simple chemotherapy in immunoglobulia and improve appetite(P<0.01, P<0.05).It is suggested that selenium might be effective adjuvant agent in chemotherapy of cancer.
