Proto-oncogene c-erbB-2 expression in transitional cell carcinoma of urinary bladder

Using immunohistochemistry S-P method,we detected the expression of c-erbB-2 gene in transitional cell bladder carcinoma specimens from 40 patients and studied the positive P¹⁸⁵ expression at associated with the advancement of the tumor grade,the tumor stage and the recurrence rate of bladder cancer.The positive P¹⁸⁵ expression rate in bladder carcinoma specimens was 40%.The positive P¹⁸⁵ expression rate of G₃ tumors was higher than that of G₁ and/or G₂(P0.05)and was corresponded to the advancement of tumor stage(0.05<P<0.10)and the recurrence rate(P<0.05).The results revealed that the c-erbB-2 gene pro-duct may be a prognostic marker of bladder carcinomas.
