Clinical Significance of Expressions of p21 and p53 Proteins and PCNA in Pancreatic Cancer

  • Objective To study the clinical significance and effect of the expression of p21、p53 protein as well as PCNA on the occurrence and development of pancreatic carcinoma. Methods p21、p53 protein and PCNA expressions were detected in 30 specimans of pancreatic carcinoma and 3 samples of normal pancreatic tissue by the method of immunohistochemistry. The data were analyzed in connection with clinical findings. Results p21 protein and p53 protein expressions showed positive correlation in pancreatic carcinoma and positive expression rates are 75% and 53.33% respectively; The positive expression rate of PCNA is 43.33%±17.99%,with the exacerbation of pancreatic cancer in increases and is positively correlated with prognosis and p53 expression (P<0.05). Conclusion The occurrence and development of pancreatic cancer are the result of associated function for many oncogene and antioncogene;PCNA is an indicator to judge malignant degree and prognosis of pancreatic cancer.
