The Singnificance of Delet ion in p16 and its Prote in Expression in Bladder Transitional Cell Carcinoma

Objective To invest igate the deletion of an tioncogene p 16 and expression of its proteinin bladder transitional cell carcinoma. Methods 31 cases of bladder transitional cell carcinoma were detected by duplex PCR and imm unohistochemical staining. Results The gene deletions were found in seven samples. The deletion retio of p16 gene was 22. 6%. Five cases had deletion in exon 2 One case had deletion in exon 1 and one had deletion in both exon 1 and exon 2 . The expression negative rates of p16 were 38. 7%. Conclusion. The results suggest that the deletions of antioncogene p16 and the no expression of p16 were associated with bladder transitional cell carcinoma.
