The Effect of Telomerase Antisense RNA on Telomerase Activity and Cell Proliferation of HL-60

Objective To study the effect of telomerase antisense RNA on telomerase activity and cell proliferation of HL-60 cells. Methods By using lipofectin mediated DNA transfection, telomerase antisense RNA was successfully introduced into HL-60 cells. By means of TRAP 、dynamics of cell growth 、flucytometry the changes of HL-60 cells in aspect of telomerase activity, proliferation were detected . Results Telomerase antisense RNA can significantly inhibit the telomerase activity and the proliferation of HL-60 cells and induce the apoptosis of HL-60 cells. Conclusion It seems to be a new methods to treat leukemia by using telomerase antisense to inhibit telomerase activity and the proliferation of HL-60 cells. telomerase is a new latent target to treat leukemia.
