The Effect of a Selective Cyclooxygenase-2 Inhibitor Celecoxib on C6 Gl ioma in Vivo

Abstract :Objective 　To investigate celecoxib's function of suppressing the growth of C6 glioma and inducing apoptosis in vivo. Methods 　C6 glioma mice were divided into cont rol and celecoxib group, used HE staining、curve of tumor volume 、PGE₂ and elect ron microscope to observe the effect of celecoxib on C6 glioma. Results HE staining and elect ron microscopy showed vascular injury, cell necrosis and apoptosis in celecoxib group, PGE₂ and tumor volume between two groups through t2test had a statistical mening, P< 0. 05. Conclusion 　Celecoxib can inhibit COX-2, decrease synthesize of PGE₂, there was a inhibition of proliferation on C6 glioma by celecoxib.
