Abstract
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy, the degree of improving life quality and adverse re2 action of Durogesic ( t ransdermal fentanyl) in management nasopharyngeal carcinoma patient s with mod2 erate or severe radiotheraputic mucositis pain in radiotherapy. Methods Sixty2six patient s with moderate or severe radiotheraputic mucositis pain were randomly divided into two groups : thirty2three patient s in t reatment group were t reated with both Durogesic and normal threapy, thirty2three patient s in cont rast group received normal threapy. The clinical efficacy, the degree of life quality and the side effect s during the radiotherapy were observed. Results In the t reatment group, the pain relief rate during the radiother2 apy was 88 %, and it is 33 % for cont rol group. The difference is significant ( P < 0. 01) between two groups. The life quality was obviously improved in t reatment group. The chief side effect was less. Con2 clusion Durogesic is effective for relieving pain and improving performance status of nasopharyngeal car2 cinoma patient s with moderate or severe radiotheraputic mucositis pain in radiotherapy. The adverse side effect s were less.
