Parotid Carcinoma with Gastric Metastasis: An Analysis of a Clinical Case
-
Abstract
This case report describes a 54-year-old male patient with a history of surgery and radiotherapy for poorly differentiated mucoepidermoid carcinoma of the parotid gland. Four years after surgery, he presented with intermittent melena and was diagnosed with rare gastric metastasis of parotid carcinoma through comprehensive diagnosis. After failure of initial cyclophosphamide + doxorubicin + cisplatin combined with sintilimab, therapy was switched to paclitaxel + carboplatin combined with sintilimab.
Restaging after 2 cycles demonstrated disease stabilization, indicating potential efficacy of paclitaxel+carboplatin combination in controlling advanced salivary carcinoma with gastric metastasis. The article systematically outlines diagnostic-therapeutic algorithms and immunohistochemical discriminators , providing a valuable reference framework for early identification and management of such rare metastatic events.
