Reliability and Validity Research of Chinese Version of Cancer Appetite and Symptom Questionnaire

  • Objective To investigate the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of cancer appetite and symptom questionnaire(CASQ).
Methods CASQ Chinese questionnaire was formed using translation and back-translation, and performed on 88 cancer patients. The entry distinction of the Chinese version of CASQ was tested. Simultaneously, PG-SGA was used to assess nutritional risks of the subjects; and it was compared with CASQ as well as the validity was tested. After the first measurement, the second measurement was made 7 days later; the reliability study of both CASQ was conducted.
Results The correlation coefficient between each entry score of CASQ and the total score of the questionnaire was 0.242-0.653(P < 0.05). The result of re-test reliability coefficient showed the data were good, the result of half-reliability was 0.560, internal consistency reliability coefficient was 0.436, and the rs value of the Chinese version of CASQ total score and the PG-SGA total score was -0.475.
Conclusion The Chinese version of CASQ is tested to be with good reliability and validity.
