Progress of Biological and Therapeutic Effect of Manganese Superoxide Dismutase in Tumor Radiotherapy

  • Manganese superoxide dismutase(MnSOD), which is located in the mitochondrial matrix, is an important antioxidase to eliminate reactive oxygen species within the cells. The regulation of MnSOD expression within normal and tumor tissues would be an important therapeutic target for radiation oncology,since MnSOD plays an important role in oncogenesis, tumor progression, radiation protection, and radiosensitivity.
