Pokemon Gene Expression in Hepatoma Cells and Its Significance

  • Objective To research pokemon expression in hepatoma cells and apoptosis of liver cancer cells through down-regulation of Pokemon Gene. Methods Pokemon expression was detected by western blot assay in hepatoma cellular lines HepG2,SMMC7721 and human embryonic stem cells LO2 cell lines.Pokemon gene silencing was induced by siRNA inhibition and then apoptosis of hepatoma cells was analyzed by flow cytometry. Results Pokemon expressions in HepG2 and SMMC7721 were significantly higher than those in human fetal liver cells LO2.siRNA inhibition of the expression of Pokemon triggered apoptosis of the liver cancer cells. Conclusion Proto-oncogene Pokemon expression in liver cancer cells was significantly increased, and played an important role in hepatocellular carcinoma development.
