Expression of p14^ARF and p53 Protein in Cervical Carcinomas

Objective 　To study the expression of p14^ARF protein in cervical carcinoma and it s relationship with the expression of p53 gene. Methods 　The expression of p14^ARFand p53 protein was detected by immunohistochemist ry in 41 cervical carcinoma tissues and 20 normal cervical tissues. Results p14^ARFwas expressed in 35 of 41 (85. 4 %) cases of cervical carcinomas. In cont rast, normal cervical epithelium did not express p14^ARF . Overexpression of p14^ARF was related to the tumor grade. The expression of p14^ARF had no association with p53. Conclusion 　The overexpression of p14^ARF has value in diagnostic and prognosis in cervical neoplasm. These proteins maybe use as new markers of cervical neoplasm.
