Expression of KAI1 and MMP-9 Protein and Its Relationship with Invasion and Metastasis of Gastric Carcinoma

Objective 　To study the expressions of KAI1 and MMP-9 protein in gastric carcinoma and explore their roles in the invasion and metastasis of gast ric carcinoma. Methods 　The expression of KAI1 and MMP-9 were detected by immunohistochemistry in 71 specimens of gastric carcinoma tissues and 20 specimens of normal gastric mucosa cases. Results 　The positive rates of KAI1 、MMP-9 in gast ric carcinoma tissues were 36. 6 %, 67. 6 % respectively, the expressions of KAI1 and MMP-9 were both correlated with depth of invasion and lymph node metastasis, KAI1 was correlated with TNM stage too ; By statistic analysis, the expression of KAI1 and MMP-9 is of negative correlation. Conclusion 　The expressions of KAI1, MMP-9 were significantly correlated with biological behaviors of gast ric carcinoma, may become target of prognostic marker in human gastric carcinoma.
