Abstract:
Objective Micronucleolus and silver-stained nucleolar organized region (AgNOR)were studied in patients with malignant tumor. Methods The peripheral blood Lymphocytes of 58 patients with cancer,37 patients with benign tumor and 45 healthy persons were tested. Results The frequency of micronucleolus in patients with cancer was higher in patients with benign tumor and controls (P<0.001),and the AgNOR was significantly lowered (P<0.05). Conclusion These results suggest silver-stained nucleolar organized region of the peripheral blood lymphocytes may be useful in diagnosis of tumor.
