Advances of Oncogene Cancer-up-regulated Gene 2(CUG2)

  • 摘要: CUG2蛋白,又称着丝粒蛋白W,是一种近期发现的核蛋白,研究发现CUG2为细胞分裂、细胞凋亡等过程所必需,在许多癌组织中都存在高表达,如结肠直肠癌及胃癌,被预测是一种致癌基因。它位于核仁上或者着丝粒上,能和着丝粒蛋白T相互结合,共同参与着丝粒染色质结构的形成。现概要介绍CUG2基因的发现、结构特点、生物学功能及其与肿瘤之间关系的最新进展。

     

    Abstract: CUG2 (cancer-up-regulated gene 2) protein, also known as centromere protein W(CENP-W), is a novel nuclear protein. Resent studies show that it is indispensable to cell division and apoptosis, and is commonly up-regulated in many cancer tissues, such as rectal colon and stomach cancers. CUG2 is also believed to act as an oncogene. Localized specifically on the centromere or nucleolus, CUG2 could combine with CENP-T and takes a part in the establishment of centromere chromatin structure. In this paper we will review briefly the advanced studies on CUG2, including its discovery, structural features, biological function and the relationship between CUG2 and cancer. protein
