Clostridium novyi-NT in Cancer Therapy

  • 摘要: 联合细菌的溶瘤治疗(combined bacteriolytic therapy,COBALT)策略在实体瘤治疗中方兴未艾。此策略是将专性厌氧菌Clostridium novyi-NT联合传统放化疗药物治疗实体瘤,现处于临床Ⅰ期试验阶段。本文分别从有效性及安全性等方面总结了抗肿瘤细菌应具有的标准,并简述了C. novyi-NT 的溶瘤机制。

     

    Abstract: Combination bacteriolytic therapy (COBALT) has the potential in cancer therapy. Today, anaerobic bacterium Clostridium novyi-NT enrolled as anticancer agent with the current chemoradiotherapy drug are in the clinical testing stage I. In this paper, we summarize the criteria of an ideal anticancer bacterium and the oncolytic mechanism of C. novyi-NT .
