Abstract: Objective To investigate the expression of adiponectin receptors levels in colorectal adenocarcinoma and its relationship with clinical pathologic features. Methods Immunohistochemical staining was performed to detect the expression of adiponectin receptors in colorectal adenocarcinoma (n=71)，colorectal adenoma (n=20) and normal controls (n=71)，Image-Pro Plus analysis software was used for semiquantitative assessment. Results Expression of adiponectin receptors in colorectal carcinoma was lower.It was intimately related to the Dukes stage，lymph node metastasis and differentiation of cancer cell.In normal control and adenoma group，adiponectin receptors equally expressed in cell membrane and cytoplasm of glandular cell of colorectal tissue.In colorectal adenocarcinoma group，adiponectin receptors marginally expressed in cell membrane and cytoplasm of tumor cell，the difference was statistically significant compared with normal control group or adenoma group，respectively(P<0.05).The levels of expression of adiponectin receptors were not significantly different between the normal control and adenoma group.(P>0.05).Normal control group of positive expression rate was higher than that in adenocarcinoma group (98.59% vs. 70.42%~74.65%)，immunohistochemical staining also showed that adiponectin receptors were significant correlated with Dukes stage and differentiation of cancer cell(P<0.05). Conclusion Expression of adiponectin receptors in colorectal carcinoma is negatively associated with the Dukes stage，lymph node metastasis and differentiation of cancer cell，it may be an important method for clinical treatment and evaluating prognosis of colorectal carcinoma.
