Abstract:
ObjectiveAnalyze the prevalence of malignant tumors in registration areas of Hubei Province in 2021 to provide a basis for tumor prevention and control.
MethodsCollected data on the incidence and mortality of malignant tumors from 31 tumor registries in Hubei Province in 2021, and calculated indicators such as the incidence rate, mortality rate (crude rate, ASRC, ASRW), and cumulative rate for ages 0-74, by gender, urban-rural area, and age group for malignant tumors in Hubei Province.
ResultsIn 2021, the incidence of malignant tumors in registration areas of Hubei Province was 329.62/10
5, the ASIRC was 189.33/10
5, the ASIRW was 201.50/10
5, and the cumulative rate for 0~74 years old was 20.81%.The incidence of malignant tumors in males was 341.56/10
5, higher than that in females, which was 317.25/10
5. A significant difference was observed in the spectrum of malignant tumor incidence between males and females. The incidence of malignant tumors in urban areas was 362.54/10
5, significantly higher than that in rural areas, which was 293.30/10
5. The peak age of malignant tumor incidence in urban areas was 80~84 years old, which was higher than that in rural areas, which was 75~79 years old. There are significant differences in the incidence ranking of malignant tumors among different age groups. In 2021, the mortality of malignant tumors in registration areas of Hubei Province was 183.59/10
5, the ASMRC was 90.36/10
5, the ASMRW was 103.22/10
5, and the cumulative rate for 0~74 years old was 10.26%. The mortality of malignant tumors in males was much higher than that in females, and the ASMRC was nearly twice that of females. The difference in mortality of malignant tumors between urban and rural areas was not significant. The mortality of malignant tumors begins to rise rapidly at the age of 45, approaches its peak at 80, and exhibited a relatively long plateau period. Except for lung cancer, which ranks first in both incidence and mortality, there are significant differences in the ranking of incidence and mortality among other major malignant tumors.
ConclusionLung cancer, female breast cancer, liver cancer, and digestive tract cancer were the main burden in registration areas of Hubei Province, which seriously affected residents' lives and health. It is necessary to strengthen comprehensive prevention and control measures and expand the coverage of screening to reduce the burden of malignant tumors, continuously.
